Dance Moms: The Beginning of the End

The moms are back!! Wow this show is really crazy. Before the episode begins, we get a pre-show episode where the producer interviews the moms and it was pretty hilarious. It was different from the Dance Moms Reunion because there was an audience who could ask questions, along with performances from the girls and the producer only took the moms out one at a time. He still made sure the other moms could hear what each other was saying, of course.

The season starts off without Brooke, Paige and Kelly. It doesn't feel the same without them, but luckily I can reassure you they'll be back by watching the season preview. In fact, they brought in a new girl named Ally, who is 13 and a great dancer, and I know she won't last either. First of all, her mom is normal. It was really strange to see a normal mom in the studio, because I tell myself that Holly and Melissa are fairly normal but then I saw Shelly and learned that Holly and Melissa are only normal for dance moms standards. Also, the fact that Ally is no where to be seen in the preview further proves my point.

Here are my predictions for this season, with the help of the season preview:
-Lots of arguing/swearing/crying, but that's a given.
-Christi will be a b*tch. Also a given.
-Cathy will continue to compete with ALDC. She will form a boys team and it will be better than their old one but they will still suck because Cathy can't choreograph.
-Ally might last another episode. Probably not.
-Kelly will bring Brooke and Paige back next episode and Abby will yell at them, put them on probation and Kelly along with Christi will threaten to leave again but they won't and Brooke and Paige will continue dancing.
-For those of you like me, who are in the in-club as far as dance competition goes, you may have heard of Sophia Lucia. Only the best dancer in the country, as far as these competition go. She also has the world record for the most pirouettes, and she's 9 or 10 years old. And even crazier; she's going to be on dance moms. Honestly when I saw her in the preview I was shocked because this isn't some kid like Kendall who came out of nowhere and was unheard of before she auditioned. If you look up her name, she pops up everywhere. She is crazy good, and I mean all of the girls on the show are good, but none of them would stand a chance against Sophia Lucia. Anyway, I'm excited to see how that plays out.

After casting Ally as a part of the team, Abby also decides to replace Chloe's featured part in the group dance as an angel with Ally. So Ally gets to be an angel while the other girls have to be demons. Sucks to suck. Abby also tore down the pyramid after realizing that Brooke and Paige weren't there. Apparently 5 people isn't enough to make a pyramid. Well, she's right, it's not, but I still wasn't expecting her to tear it down.

Abby gives Kendall a solo and makes her cry. Maddie, Chloe and Mackenzie all get solos as well. When the new mom, Shelly, first meets the moms, I actually feel really bad for her. The moms, especially Christi, are just so mean. Of course Christi believes she's hiding something and she's really a crazy dance mom, which was what she said about Jill. Okay, Jill is a crazy dance mom, but Shelly isn't! I can tell just by looking at her that she's not going to buy Abby a bench to bribe her into giving her daughter a solo, or throw a fit because she believes Abby purposely scratched the CD to make Maddie look even more impressive when she dances without music, or freak out over her daughter portraying a bully, or leave the studio to go to Candy Apples and then come back, or deny that she is engaged when she really is. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, all of this has happened on the show. And believe me, I could go on, but I don't have all day. Well, I do, but I have to keep up with the Kardashians.

They go to the competition. Holly is not happy because Abby hasn't decided whether or not the group dance will be a group dance or just a solo for Ally, and Holly doesn't want to go all the way to Denver if her daughter isn't even dancing. I don't blame her, Abby can be a pain. And I once again feel terrible for Shelly, who the moms are blaming for the group dance possibly turning into a solo.

First up is Maddie's solo. It has a lot of turns they have really improved over time. It was a beautiful solo, as usual. Chloe is next and also does a great job. Apparently she forgot a part but kept going, which still caused her a lecture from Abby about how if she did that on Broadway she would be fired. The group dance is next, and it is in fact a group dance. Abby knew it the whole time, she was just too cruel to say it.

It is really, really good. Ally does a beautiful job as the angel, and the girls are in perfect sync the entire time. Ally is a talented dancer, but I like my original crew. I don't know if I want her to stay or leave, but either way she's going to leave so whatever. Abby congratulates the group and then goes on and on about how great Ally was. You know the other moms loved that.

Kendall performs her solo. It's really not that great. Mackenzie does hers, and the world almost ended as one of her bows fell off. It must've startled Mackenzie because she kind of stood there staring at it for a while, and then she continued her dance. She came off stage crying and it was so sad because Mackenzie is so cute and I never want to see her cry again! Abby yells at her because it is totally her fault that the bow fell off of her hair.

The girls wait for the awards, starting with solos for the 7-8 age group. Mackenzie places first! Thank God the world didn't end! Kendall places 5th (ouch), Chloe places 2nd, and, to nobody's surprise, Maddie wins her category. The group also places first so overall, apart from Kendall, the day went pretty well. Not that that stopped any drama from happening.

Also, I forgot to mention, this guy comes in during the competition to see Abby, and they apparently went to school together. This is the same guy who Kelly said she went out with when she was younger which made Abby mad. This whole scene was pretty confusing, because I don't know how set up it was. The man seems to be oblivious to the fact that there is a TV show called "Dance Moms" and that Abby and Kelly are both on it. All I know is that Abby is going out with him after the competition, so I'm sorry whoever that man is. I couldn't imagine anything worse than going out to dinner with Abby. First of all she probably orders 10 things off the menu, which costs a lot, and then she all she'll talk about is dance, and she'll probably tell him "everyone's replaceable" and replace him with some old man on the street. I don't know about that last one. I think Dance Moms is polluting my mind. Not that that's going to stop me from watching it.

Phew, that was one crazy episode. I love this show. So much. The only thing that would make me love it even more is for Christi to shut her mouth. Forever. Anyway, that wraps up the first episode of season 3! Be sure to comment your thoughts!

Dance Moms: Getting Ready for Season 3

As many of you know, season 3 starts on January 1st. If you have not seen the promo then you have to look it up! It's great, trust me. Also, I'm sure many of you were worried that the Hylands (Kelly, Paige & Brooke) were not coming back. I would've been, if Kelly hadn't said that every episode and come back after changing her mind. Well, rest assured, they are back.

Before we start season 3, let's look back at the good times from season 1 & 2. Season 1 was all about Maddie being on top of the pyramid, getting a solo (and winning) every week, and nationals. When we finally got to nationals, we found out it was exactly the same as any other competition. But it was nationals, so that must mean something, right? Chloe and Maddie both had solos (surprise, surprise) and Chloe forgot hers. May I say that when a kid forgets their solo, that is the absolute worst part of the show? Not only because you feel awful for the kid, but mostly because of the adult's reactions. Paige was the first to forget hers, and Abby flipped out. Chloe forgot hers at nationals, so you can imagine how angry Abby was. Then it was Nia, which her mom went to the competition director and asked if she could perform again. That was by far the best way to react to the child forgetting their solo in my opinion. What is it with Abby saying you only get one chance? Maybe on Broadway, but these are kids, and as far as I know, you usually do get more than one chance. Think about the SAT; if you fail the first time, you just take it again.

Now of everyone who's ever forgotten their solo, the worst was Maddie. Usually the kids freeze on stage, but Maddie ran straight off, and literally had a panic attack. NOT HEALTHY for a nine year old, or anyone. And I don't even want to begin to think about the drama that went on after that.

One issue I think we should address before moving on to the next season is the favoritism. I am not denying that Maddie isn't Abby's favorite, but it is SO overrated. Why? Christi. If there is one person I can't stand on this show, it's Christi. Now Abby is just plain mean, but she knows it and she doesn't care either. Cathy is a nut, enough said. But Christi likes to manipulate people. It's all about her Chloe and how unfair it is for her. If it was that bad, there is no way a parent would keep their child in that studio. Christi exaggerates Maddie's favoritism a lot, which hurts Maddie's reputation. Don't believe me? Here you go:

In the second half of the second season of Dance Moms, Abby expected a ton out of Maddie, and when  Maddie didn't meet her expectations, she went on the bottom of the pyramid. Remember that time when Maddie's part was taken away from her (the homeless child)? And was given to Chloe? All of a sudden Abby was putting too much pressure on Chloe. When Chloe gets a solo it's too much pressure, when Chloe doesn't get a solo it's not fair because Abby doesn't pay any attention to her. I find it funny that people think Chloe is the underdog, when in my opinion Paige and Nia are the underdogs. When Chloe got the lead in the music video, it was all happy and fair, but when Maddie got the part for drop dead diva, it was rigged. When Maddie wins a competition, it's because she gets better choreography but when Chloe wins, it's because she's more talented. The worst was the last episode, when Abby asked Melissa who she would pick to have a solo. First Melissa says Nia, but basically Abby says "no", so poor Nia never even had a chance at getting the solo. Melissa picks Chloe, which is great because according to Christi, Chloe really deserves it. I'm not disagreeing, but Abby said the solos would be decided solely on their performances at the previous competition. Kendall placed higher than Chloe. Nia is picked over Chloe. Chloe gets the solo. If that had been Maddie, boy would we have heard complaints.

Anyway, I'm done ranting about favoritism and how much I can't stand Christi. That being said, I love Chloe! In fact, I love all of the girls, just not their moms. I'm excited about the new season. What are you looking forward to? Do you think it will last as long as season 2? Let me know by commenting below!

X Factor: THE WINNER IS ANNOUNCED! Finale Results

This is the episode we've all been waiting for. We finally find out who the winner is. But first we must sit through 3 Christmas songs, a performance from One Direction, the elimination of 3rd place, and a duet with the top 2. The only things I really know about One Direction are that they were on X Factor and placed 2nd, and that Niall has a crush on Demi. Which I learned from X Factor.

The judges all arrive on the red carpet with thousands of screaming fans. Tate is the first contestant to arrive and sings down the red carpet. Carly follows, and continues the song, and Fifth Harmony also follows and continues the song. The other contestants who were eliminated are lined up across the red carpet. Carly hugs Diamond and it's really cute. The finalists finish their song on stage, and it was a great entrance.

Tate is the first to sing his Christmas song, but before he begins, Khloe and Mario show a video making fun of LA. It's basically a piano playing track while they show clips of him fingering piano pieces while a contestant is singing, and strumming imaginary guitars. It's pretty funny. Tate sings, he does great but it doesn't really matter because the votes are done by now. Fifth Harmony goes next, and they play clips of Simon insulting people while the song "Mr. Grinch" is playing. He does have some pretty great insults, I must say! Finally, Carly Rose sings "All I Want for Christmas is You" and I won't comment on that because I don't like that song. But I will comment on the faces of Britney, because they play clips of the faces she makes throughout the show and it is hilarious. She seriously always looks confused!

The finalists are brought back out, and they announce the third place winner who gets eliminated. To nobody's surprise, Fifth Harmony came in 3rd. They even weren't surprised. I am happy for them though, because they did make it really far into the competition. But now it's down to Carly and Tate, who have been in the top 2 this whole time. I'll be happy with either one, but I think Tate needs it more.

They perform their final song, which is a duet between the two of them of "The Climb" by Miley Cyrus. It is beautiful but I'm eager to see who won already!

The two are brought back onstage, and Mario takes an hour before he says the name of the winner, which is...

TATE STEVENS!!!!!

Yay! I'm so happy for Tate! He just won 5 Million Dollars! All of the contestants from the top 12 (including Lyric 145, who we missed last night probably because rap didn't exactly go with the song choice) come out and dance while Tate sings one last time. Although I'm pretty sure Carly isn't there. It's a really touching moment, and Tate is a really talented singer. I'm so happy for him! Aaahh!

So, looking back at all of the contestants from the beginning of the season, I have to say I didn't expect Tate to win. I expected Jennel, of course. She should've made it way further. I would've loved to see Carly and Diamond in the final 2, that would've made things interesting. Here are the final results I would've picked:

1. Diamond White
2. Carly Rose Sonenclar
3. Jennel Garcia
4. Tate Stevens
5. Cece Frey
6.Vino Alan
7.Fifth Harmony
8. Emblem 3
9. Paige Thomas
10. Lyric 145
11. Arin Ray
12. Beatrice Miller
13. Jason...

Here is the order it turned out:

1. Tate Stevens
2. Carly Rose Sonenclar
3. Fifth Harmony
4. Emblem 3
5. Diamond White
6. Cece Frey
7. Vino Alan
8. Paige Thomas
9. Beatrice Miller
10. Arin Ray
11. Jennel Garcia
12. Lyric 145
13. Jason

X Factor: FINALE PERFORMANCES

WOW this was a great show! All the acts from the top 12 came back and the show started with Simon announcing the tribute they will be making to the kids and teachers who were killed at the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. The acts performed "You Are Not Alone" by Michael Jackson, and it was absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking.

Beatrice started out, and she did beautifully. Arin followed, also singing really well. Then came Diamond, who always shines. Cece was next, followed by Paige who kind of struggled, but then we got to see Vino who was amazing and Jennel who also sang well. Emblem 3 even did a nice job and then the finalists arrived, starting with Tate, then Fifth Harmony, and Carly who really shined. And then they all sang together and the kids names were all lit up behind them and I cried. And I mean I know I cried for Diamond and Cece's thanksgiving performances, but this was so beautiful and so heartbreaking, it was really heartfelt. Demi was probably balling but we didn't get to see her face.

Now the finals begin. The 3 acts must sing a song that they've already performed. Carly Rose went first with "Feeling Good" and although it's not my favorite song, she always rocks it. Tate was next, also performing his audition song and he did amazing. Fifth Harmony sang "Anything Can Happen," which they just sang last week and didn't bother changing the set-up either. It was kind of lazy, but it still is their best performance.

Next, we learn that they will get duets with a celebrity. Carly Rose sang with LeAnn Rimes, and while Carly did well, LeAnn looked awful and sang awful. I felt bad for Carly. Tate sang with three country singers, it was something like Little Big Planet....probably not but something like it. It wasn't anything spectacular, but he was having fun, and I'm guessing they didn't have much time to rehearse these duets. Fifth Harmony's was by FAR the best because they performed "Give Your Heart a Break" with Demi Lovato herself, and man Demi is a star. She was so good Simon gave her a standing ovation. He even said she was "sensational" and "pop perfection." Wow. That's impressive coming from Simon. Especially to Demi.

Their last performance is their 5 Million Dollar performance, and this is what it all comes down to. Carly Rose sang the Shrek version of Hallelujah (which is much better than the original version, if you haven't heard it look it up!) and this was my favorite performance of hers. She looked gorgeous and she held back, yet still sang that big Carly Rose note and had a choir backing her up. I almost cried. Almost.

Tate sang a song I think was called "Tomorrow" but it might be "Tonight." I'm not really good with country music, as you can tell, but Tate makes you like country. I also forgot to mention earlier that they contacted every finalists' hometown (they picked Ally's for Fifth Harmony) and had the mayor there as well as their friends and co-workers and church and piano teachers. Khloe asked Tate's boss if he was expecting Tate at work, and he goes; "Hell no! I expect him to win this whole thing!" The mayor of Tate's hometown planned to add Tate's name on the water tower, which made Tate get emotional which did it for me. I'm voting for Tate now. Don't hate, I know Carly's an amazing singer but Tate is really good too and Carly's only 13. She already has an amazing future ahead of her, and this is Tate's only chance. Anyway, I loved Tate's last performance as well.

Fifth Harmony sang "Let it Be" and it was okay. Fine, it was good, but not great. It was too short and I didn't hear much harmony. I will be so so so shocked if they win. They won't.

And that's a wrap for tonight! Looking back, I think each act had their chance to shine. Tate had the best "Song of the Season" (first song) performance, Fifth Harmony had the best duet (thanks to Demi) and Carly Rose had the best 5 million dollar performance. I am SO excited to watch tomorrow's episode!

X Factor: Top 4 Semi-Finals Results

We finally get to find out who made it to the finale!! I'm still wearing black because I'm still mourning the loss of Diamond, who had the best voice on the show. Oh well. America doesn't know how to vote. And Britney doesn't know how to judge.

The four acts come out, and they all look so nervous. I don't blame them. There will be no sing off unfortunately, because I would've loved to see Fifth Harmony and Emblem 3 have a sing off and Demi refuse to vote until Simon does which is exactly what he did to her. Jerk. Mario and Khloe, aka the worst hosts ever, announce the first act through to the finals. And it's Fifth Harmony. At this point everyone is going nuts, the girls are freaking out, Simon is ecstatic, and the only one who isn't thrilled is Britney. This is the best part of the whole night. Britney's face. It's a mix of shock, confusion, and horror. Not to mention disgust. In fact, Britney often looks confused. Khloe asks her what's going on in her mind, and she said she thought it was going to be the other way around with the groups. Now either she is really confident that both Tate and Carly are going through, or she is misunderstanding the concept that Emblem 3 can still go through. Britney being Britney, it's probably the second one.

Tate is called next. So now it's down to Carly Rose and Emblem 3. I will be really upset if Carly Rose doesn't get through because she is 10000x more talented than Emblem 3. But then again so was Diamond. After about 20 minutes of waiting for Mario to announce who is through, he calls Carly's name, and Emblem 3 is eliminated. Simon is disappointed, but he couldn't really expect both of his acts to get through could he?

So there we have it. America has voted; the finalists are Carly Rose Sonenclar, Tate Stevens and Fifth Harmony. I still don't know who I'm voting for, and I will base it entirely on next weeks performances. Maybe I can write in Diamond's name?

X Factor: Top 4 Semi-Finals Performances

Last week Cece and Diamond were eliminated. I'm wearing black because I'm in mourning. The acts once again have 2 performances, and they pick their first song. Three of the four will make it to the finals, which I am so excited about!

Carly Rose chooses "Your Song" by Elton John, who her dad loves. And Britney's mom. She came out and did the same thing she always does; sings beautifully and hit the big notes. It is getting slightly repetitive, and I think Carly should do something out of her element and dance. Just my opinion. Her second song was "Imagine" and this is what I'm talking about when I say she needs to do something different. She started by playing the piano and it was beautiful, but then she got up and hit the high notes and went back to her old self. Simon was right, she should've just stayed at the piano the whole time because at this point we're aware she can sing those big notes. It wasn't her best night, in fact it was the first night she was criticized but I'm sure she'll make it to the finals anyway.

Emblem 3 had their best night today. Their first song was good, but I really enjoyed their second song, "Hey Jude" by the Beatles which surprisingly suited them really well. This was the best I've seen them perform and I will be surprised if they're not in the finals either.

Tate had the best performances of the night. I still can't tell you which songs he sang, only because all country songs sound similar to me. Actually, scratch that. The first song was "Bonfire" and it was more upbeat and I loved it, and the second song was slower but still really good. I really love Tate, he is so sweet! I don't know who I'm going to vote for, him or Carly, assuming they both make it to the finals. It will be a tough choice.

Fifth Harmony's first song was "Anything Can Happen" by Ellie Golden and it was my favorite performance of theirs so far. There was some action and it was entertaining, good props, costumes and harmony. Their second was "Impossible," which is the song they performed at the judges house when they were first put together as a group. They even sang parts of it in Spanish, and it was great but I don't think they should sing the same song twice.

My pick for the finals is Carly Rose, Tate and Diamond. Oh wait, she's not here. She should be though. Then I guess I'll go with Fifth Harmony. I think Emblem 3 will replace Fifth Harmony though. We have to wait until tomorrow :(

X Factor: Top 6 Results

After several good performances, the top 6 line up to find out who is automatically eliminated from the competition. This week, we say goodbye to the great Cece Frey. I will miss her because I loved her attitude from the beginning, but I agree that she had the weakest performance out of everyone.

The bottom two are Diamond and Fifth Harmony. My pick is Diamond, but you probably already know that. How is this even fair? A 13 year old is competing against 5 girls ranged from ages 15-19. Then again, we're looking at one incredibly talented 13 year old.

Fifth Harmony sings first and I can't remember which song they chose, but it was a good one because they actually harmonized, which is LA's biggest complaint. They are 5 individually talented singers, but are they really good together? Tonight they were.

Diamond came out with a big smile, and this girl is so mature I am amazed. She sang "Dance" with so much feeling, I thought it was a good song choice. It's amazing to think that she and Beatrice are the same age, when Diamond was smiling throughout the whole performance and Beatrice was balling. It's just not the same maturity level.

Simon eliminates Diamond, Britney eliminates Fifth Harmony. It's down to LA and Demi. They both send Diamond home, and you can tell she's upset, but she still smiles as she tells the audience she is thinking of Cher Lloyd who came in 5th and released a hit album, and said she'll make sure to come back next year and perform her hit single. I'll miss you so much Diamond! You are a star! You make me proud.

I am pretty upset, mainly because Emblem 3 is still in and Diamond isn't. I'm voting Fifth Harmony over Emblem 3 next week. The rankings were as followed:
1. Tate (Didn't really deserve the top spot this week)
2. Carly Rose (Should've been first)
3. Emblem 3 (Should not be here)
4. Fifth Harmony (This is where they should be)
5. Diamond (I just had to put her on here because she is too talented to leave this competition)
6. Cece (I might as well just add her too because she's awesome.)
