X Factor: Top 8 Perfomances

This week I think we've finally narrowed it down to the top 8 acts of the competition, and everyone deserves to be there (along with Jennel). Last week was emotional, Arin was sent home after a not-so-great performance and Beatrice and Cece were both in the sing-off. Cece's performance was so touching, it was hard to believe she was in the bottom 2, and even Beatrice had done a nice job in her performance. Beatrice was a mess in the sing-off however, and she was sent home in tears. Carly Rose was ranked first this time, ahead of Tate.

This week the performances are the opposite of the slow, emotional ones; very upbeat with dancing and everything.

Carly Rose performed "Rolling in the Deep" by Adele, and while it wasn't my favorite, it was still amazing. She started out really slow, but once she finally reaches the high notes she brings it. I just wish there would've been some element of dance into it, because it was a little too easy compared to the other acts.

Emblem 3 did well this week, and this was much more in their element. They really aren't meant for slow songs, they can play their own instruments and write their own music. They also hate being called a boy band.

Paige's performance was way different than anything we've seen before; it was sexy and she really looked like a popstar. The judges all agreed it was her best performance yet, and I think so too.

Vino's was very disappointing, only because of the song choice, which is LA's fault. It was probably the worst of the night, only because all of the others were really good, but I doubt he'll get sent home since he's placed third this whole time.

Diamond sang "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" by Whitney Houston. It was upbeat and challenging; not only is it a difficult song to sing but there was choreography and dance and everything. She was nervous before going on (don't blame her) but she shouldn't have been since she was amazing. This was one of my favorite performances of hers, she really nailed those high notes as she danced and you could tell she was having fun.

Before Fifth Harmony preformed, we learn that one of the girls in the group, Ally, lost her grandfather this past week. The girls sang Stronger and it was by far, and I mean FAR, their best performance. It sounded like the original song by Kelly Clarkson. I am very impressed and I even learned all of the girls names! Ally is the oldest, followed by Lauren, and the rest, Camila, Dinah and Normani. I still think the best are Dinah and Lauren, but I do like Ally's voice and Camila brings something different, not too sure about Normani.

Cece sand "Lady Marmalade" by Christina Aguilera, and it was the exact opposite of last week's performance of "You Are the Wind Beneath My Wings." I still enjoyed it though, but as Simon says, there was a lot going on. Simon even told her to pack a suitcase because she won't be back, but I hope she will because Cece rocks!

Tate's performances are always the same, but they're always good. He does have a really nice country voice, and I really like him as a person too.

And that's it for you, the top 8! My pick for tonight is Fifth Harmony, but I always love Diamond and Carly Rose sang really well.
